I will be running for Team One Step in the 2022 HOKA Chicago Half Marathon on September 25th to empower children diagnosed with cancer and their families. It is estimated that approximately 1 in 285 children in the US will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20 and cancer is the second leading cause of death in children ages 1-14. 

Team One Step supports Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services, which is an organization that operates camps and other recreational and educational experiences for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. Camp One Step recognizes that when a child is given the diagnosis of cancer, the entire family is impacted, so Camp One Step also offers family programs and camps for siblings of children diagnosed with cancer. One Step Programs aim to provide an environment of hope, strength, and empowerment through 11 programs that serve children and families throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and the Midwest.
